The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has just issued a Directive requiring compliance with regulations on passenger transport service prices on domestic flights.
Accordingly, to ensure the rights of passengers when participating in air transport, especially during the April 30 and May 1 holidays and the peak summer season of 2023, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam requires Vietnamese airlines to strictly implement the listing; announce and publicize selling prices according to regulations on distribution channels; and impose sanctions on agents who do not comply with regulations on domestic ticket prices.
In addition, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam also requested to strengthen control over the airline's ticket sales, ensuring that ticket sales are implemented at the declared price, not exceeding the ceiling price specified in Circular 17/2019/TT-BGTVT dated May 3, 2019 of the Ministry of Transport promulgating the price frame for passenger transport services on domestic flights.
At the same time, promote propaganda to passengers about buying airline tickets at authorized agents, official distribution channels as well as feedback information about buying domestic airline tickets at prices exceeding regulations to the hotlines of airlines.
Circular 17/2019/TT-BGTVT of the Ministry of Transport stipulates the price range for passenger transport services on domestic flights. The price range for economy class passenger transport services is calculated according to flight distance.
Accordingly, for flights under 500km, the maximum one-way ticket price is 1.6 million VND/ticket for the group of socio-economic development routes and 1.7 million VND/ticket for other routes. For flights with a distance of 500km to under 850km, the maximum ticket price is 2.2 million VND/one-way ticket. From 850km to under 1,000km, the maximum price is 2.79 million VND/ticket. For flights from 1,280km or more, the maximum one-way price is 3.75 million VND/ticket.
