Oil prices improve, surpassing the 80 USD/barrel mark
Today, December 27, the international oil price improved as it continued to increase from the previous session. Brent oil price surpassed the important milestone of 80 USD/barrel.
Data from Oilprice shows that at 9:09 p.m. on December 26 (Vietnam time), Brent oil was trading at $80.6 per barrel, up $1.53, or 1.93%, from the previous session. WTI oil was at $75.12 per barrel, up $1.56, or 2.12%, from the previous session.
Oil prices rose as investors remained concerned that geopolitical tensions in the Middle East could limit supply and optimism about the possibility of the US Federal Reserve cutting interest rates early next year, analysts said.

Oil prices were also supported by expectations that the Fed will start cutting interest rates next year, after US data released late last week showed inflation in the world's largest economy was cooling.
Easing interest rate pressures stimulate global economic growth and increase fuel demand, contributing to support oil prices.
The International Energy Agency (IEA) forecasts global oil demand will increase by 1.1 million barrels per day next year. Meanwhile, the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) believes demand will increase by 2.25 million barrels per day.
