Third Prize "Voice of Hanoi 2023" Khanh Thy thanked the audience with gentle sounds

After the success of her debut album “Yes, I’ll Get Married”, the singer from the contest “Hanoi Singing Voice 2023” – singer Khanh Thy returns with Vol.2 – a collection of 11 songs that evoke youth, nostalgia and the gentle hidden corners of a woman’s soul. Khanh Thy shared that Vol.2 is the singer’s gratitude to the audience, to Hanoi, to her hometown Da Lat.

The launching ceremony of Khanh Thy's Vol.2 was held warmly at Hanoi Radio and Television Station, the place that discovered and supported her from the early days of pursuing a professional music career, with the participation of the Station's leaders, musicians, artists, experienced lecturers who have accompanied Khanh Thy on her artistic path, including Deputy General Director, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Hanoi Radio and Television Station Nguyen Tien Dung; musician, People's Artist Nguyen Quang Vinh, Chairman of Hanoi Music Association, Head of the Jury of Hanoi Singing Contest, People's Artist Ha Thuy, Meritorious Artist Nguyen Ngoc Dung...

Coming out of the Hanoi Singing Contest 2023, with a solid technical foundation, Khanh Thy brings a youthful, pure voice but deep enough to handle soulful lyrical songs. Her voice is considered to have its own color, both soft, sweet, and emotional, creating a clear difference compared to many young singers of the same generation. Khanh Thy does not choose to follow purely commercial music, but has a clear direction for a sustainable artistic path, building a personal mark on a foundation of authentic music.

There was a rather surprising detail revealed by Khanh Thy's father at the Vol.2 launch ceremony: the female singer used to be a student majoring in Mathematics. It was not until grade 11 that Khanh Thy decided to pursue music and this path was not without difficulties.

Sharing about the female singer, People's Artist Quang Vinh happily and truthfully shared that Khanh Thy is one of the few "less greasy" voices today. She still maintains a rustic quality, without needing too much support from technology like many other singers. People's Artist Ha Thuy also commented that Khanh Thy has clearly matured in her musical thinking, showing the ability to control emotions delicately, both seductive and moderate. Khanh Thy does not seek breakthroughs with tricks, but chooses to delve deeper into her voice and true emotions. This is what makes the female singer different in the context of many young artists following music trends that easily attract the masses like the current "Anh trai" and "Chi dep".

Vol.2 introduces to the public 11 works by musicians of many generations, including "Da Lat sunset" (Da Cam), "Sad stone slab" (Dieu Huong), "Thuo ay co em" (Huynh Anh), "Xuan thi" (Phan Manh Quynh), "Thanh pho suong" (Viet Anh), "Cho em quen tuoi ngoc" (Lam Phuong), "Linh hon tuong da" (Minh Ky, Le Dinh, Anh Bang), "Yeu khong hoi ret" medley (including "Yeu khong hoi ret" by Hamlet Truong and "Ai khong noi dau nay" by Duc Tri)... Regarding this choice, Khanh Thy said that she wishes not only to bring diversity in music but also to connect many generations of audiences, from those who love deep lyrical music to young audiences looking for something new and close. The 11 songs are 11 slices of emotions and memories. Khanh Thy did not want to name the album, because each listener can call it with their own feelings. For Khanh Thy, this is a tribute to those who have loved and gone through the misty seasons of memories with music.

Notably, in Vol.2, the production team has maintained the continuity and high aesthetics in the harmony. The mixes are processed coherently, modernly, without overusing electronics but still have a contemporary breath, thanks to skillful mix-mastering techniques. Between the layers of classical lyrical music, you can still feel the warmth of jazz, pop and acoustic - creating a close yet luxurious listening space.

Album Vol.2 was recorded in Ho Chi Minh City - the most vibrant music center in the country, opening up opportunities for Khanh Thy to collaborate with professional production teams, while marking an important step in expanding the market and connecting more deeply with audiences nationwide. All 11 songs in the album were invested in MV filming - a rare thing in Vietnamese music production today, especially for a young artist. The synchronization between music and images shows Khanh Thy's seriousness, respect for the audience and long-term strategy in her artistic path...
