On July 24, the Organizing Committee of the third National Press Award "For the cause of developing Vietnamese culture" announced the award rules.
This is a press award organized annually by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to select and award authors or groups of authors with outstanding press works on culture, information, family, sports and tourism published and broadcast by central and local press agencies within the prescribed time.
Mr. Nguyen Anh Vu - editor-in-chief of Van Hoa newspaper, deputy head of the organizing committee of the third season of the award - affirmed that this year's award has been upgraded and innovated. This year, many major events of the country have taken place, promising an exciting and quality season.
This year's awards expand the theme to include journalism, information and publishing.
The contestants are Vietnamese citizens at home and abroad whose press works on culture, information, family, sports and tourism are published and broadcast on licensed press agencies (printed newspapers, electronic newspapers, radio newspapers, television newspapers, and photo newspapers) within the prescribed time.
Foreign authors whose journalistic works (written in Vietnamese) comply with the award rules are eligible to participate equally with Vietnamese people.
This year, works on electronic newspapers only need to send the link of the work, no need to print the work as required in previous years.
One of the topics that the organizers encourage authors to focus on is the topic of building a healthy cultural environment in cyberspace, arousing a sense of responsibility and national pride to gradually eliminate negative manifestations, prevent and repel "deviant" phenomena, and guide people towards truth - goodness - beauty.
Or topics on solutions to monitor and handle bad and toxic information; solutions to prevent and combat the dissemination of obscene cultural products on cyberspace; raising awareness, skills to master information and technical tools and means for people when participating in cultural activities on cyberspace.
The Organizing Committee accepts entries until July 31 (according to the postmark).
