According to initial information, at around 5:45 p.m. on August 16, Phu Nghia Commune Police received a report from Mr. D.ND (48 years old, residing in Tan Lap hamlet, Phu Nghia commune) that his daughter, D.TNT (born in 2007), showed signs of panic and then lost contact with her family. Believing that this could be a scam, the Commune Police quickly deployed forces to verify.
Through screening, the authorities discovered T. was staying at a motel in Phuoc Long ward ( Dong Nai province) and promptly rescued him safely.
Initial investigation results show that T. had previously downloaded a banking application online to register for an online account. During this process, she provided her ID card, phone number, and many personal information. Taking advantage of this data, a group of people impersonating the police, the prosecutor's office, and the court called to threaten T. with accusations of being involved in a case in Hanoi . They asked her to "lock herself up" in a motel, record a clip of her screaming, with the aim of blackmailing her family.
Fortunately, the plot was discovered and stopped by the police before it could be carried out.
