Driver rescued after 7 hours trapped in car cabin under deep ravine

At 9:15 p.m. on July 17, at Km56+200 National Highway 9, through Lang Cat village, Dakrong commune, a traffic accident occurred, causing a tractor-trailer to plunge into a deep ravine.

According to initial information, at the above time, driver Nguyen Trung Th. (born in 1990, in Hai Duong province, now Hai Phong city) was driving a tractor with license plate 34Rm-005.09 pulling a trailer (license plate not yet determined) on National Highway 9, from Lao Bao International Border Gate to Dong Ha, at Km56+200 the vehicle plunged into a deep ravine.

After receiving the news, the Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Police Department ( Quang Tri Provincial Police) urgently mobilized the Fire Fighting and Rescue Team of Area I and the Fire Fighting and Rescue Team of Area VI along with vehicles to the scene to coordinate with Dakrong Commune Police and the Traffic Police force to organize the rescue.

At the scene, the authorities promptly approached and encouraged the victim. At more than 4:00 a.m. on July 18, the victim was taken out of the car cabin and given emergency care.

The case is being further investigated and clarified by the authorities.
