The event was organized by the Vietnam Journalists Association in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City Journalists Association. According to Mr. Tran Trong Dung, Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association in charge of the South, the tournament attracted about 6,000 athletes to participate, including more than 1,000 journalists, reporters, editors from central and local press agencies and students from journalism and communication faculties across the country.

The tournament includes running distances of 5 km, 10 km, 21 km and a 3.5 km walk, creating opportunities for athletes to conquer the most beautiful roads in the center of Ho Chi Minh City such as Nguyen Hue Street, Thu Ngu Flag Tower, Ton Duc Thang Street along the Saigon River, Ba Son Bridge, Thu Thiem... The total prize value is nearly 400 million VND, along with special rewards for journalists with excellent competition achievements.

In particular, athletes who complete the distance within the specified time will receive a commemorative medal with the number 100 - symbolizing 100 years of Vietnam Revolutionary Journalism, along with the logo of the Vietnam Journalists Association.

In addition to sports activities, the tournament also organizes an art photography contest to capture impressive moments on the running track, a press exhibition, and a space to display health care and tourism products and services.

The tournament also aims to promote the spirit of "city of love" when organizing donations to support the Ho Chi Minh City Association of Agent Orange/Dioxin Victims on the occasion of the association's 20th anniversary.

The Agribank Cup 2025 “Proud of the City I Love” walking-running race is not only a sporting event, but also an opportunity for the journalism community and the public to honor their love for Ho Chi Minh City, national pride and the spirit of solidarity for the community.
