Asian Rowing Championship held in Hai Phong

Accordingly, the Asian Rowing Championship will take place from October 16-19 in Hai Phong city; expected to have about 678 members, including international officials, leaders, team leaders, coaches and athletes from 18 Asian countries and territories.

Athletes compete in 20 events for both men and women, promising to bring dramatic, attractive competitions with high professional quality.

For Vietnamese athletes, this is an opportunity to compete with strong opponents, improve professional achievements to prepare for the 33rd SEA Games held in Thailand and the 2026 Asian Games (ASIAD 20) in Japan .

Within the framework of the tournament, many sideline activities will also be organized such as cultural and culinary tours of Hai Phong for athletes and international guests, contributing to spreading the image of a friendly Vietnam, rich in identity and ready to integrate.

According to Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hai Phong Tran Thi Hoang Mai, in a number of regional tournaments, the two events of Rowing and Canoeing (31st Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 31) in 2022; Southeast Asian Championship and Youth Rowing Championship in 2017 and 2024) held in Hai Phong, the city has left a good impression on international visitors with its respectful welcome, hospitality and professional organization.

Through this tournament, Hai Phong continues to have the opportunity to introduce to international friends about Hai Phong city - a destination with rich potential for tourism and sports development.

On the other hand, it is an opportunity to continue to improve the facilities at the Hai Phong Sailing Center, a location that is evaluated by international experts as an ideal competition venue with natural water surface that meets international standards, suitable for national teams and youth teams to train annually, improve professional quality, meet international competition conditions, and build an image as a premise for the plan to host international tournaments of continental scale in the future.
