On the evening of August 26, the 2025 International Police Volleyball Tournament officially kicked off. The tournament gathered 6 teams, including 3 Vietnamese teams: People's Police (with the core being the Ho Chi Minh City Police Volleyball Team); Army (The Cong - Tan Cang); Hanoi Club with the Lao Ministry of Public Security Team; Cambodian Ministry of Interior Team (Visakha); Indonesian Police Team (Jakarta Bhayangkara Presisi Club).
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Senior Lieutenant General Pham The Tung - Deputy Minister of Public Security - welcomed the teams participating in the tournament.
Senior Lieutenant General Pham The Tung also shared: "The Ministry of Public Security hopes that through the organization of the tournament, it will connect the spirit of solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and countries in the region and the world in general, between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the police forces of other countries in particular.
Through cultural and sports exchanges, it contributes to promoting cooperation and development between police forces of different countries in ensuring security and order, fighting and preventing crime, especially transnational crime.
Immediately after the opening ceremony was the match between the home team, the People's Public Security, and the Indonesian Police. With a more even force, the Indonesian Police team won 3-0.
The 2025 International Police Volleyball Tournament will take place from August 26 to 30 at the National Defense II Sports Stadium of Military Region 7 (HCMC), and is open to the public.
