Que Tran is proud to be Thanh Tong's daughter.

On the afternoon of October 12, artist Thanh Tong's family held a memorial service to mark the 9th anniversary of his passing. His daughter, Que Tran, shared her emotional thoughts about the father she loved and respected.

It was meaningful that on the evening of October 11, Dai Viet New Stage also performed the Cai Luong play Buc Ngon Do Dai Viet . Que Tran played the role of Bao Tram.

Que Tran, continuing the wishes of Thanh Tong's father

The Dai Viet Map (authors: Ha Van Cau, Loan Thao, Thanh Tong) is considered one of the outstanding cai luong works of the Minh To - Thanh Tong family. This year also celebrates the 100th anniversary of this family of opera - cai luong tuong.

In addition to the Dai Viet Map , in April 2025, Dai Viet Stage also cooperated with the family to stage the play Saddle Poem .

The two famous plays of Minh To - Thanh Tong, when directed by Hoa Ha in a new version, both received high praise from experts and audiences.

On the anniversary of Thanh Tong's death, Que Tran was happy to "report her achievements" with two remade works from the contributions of her aunts, uncles, children of the 4th, 5th, and 6th generations in the family and the team of writers, directors, and young actors of Dai Viet Stage.

She emotionally said: "When working, what makes me happiest is that everyone loves my father, respects his talent, and respects the traditional opera that our family is attached to. Everyone wants to preserve the quintessence that our predecessors have painstakingly researched, created, and summarized.

I always believe that somewhere my father is very happy when his work and that of his family are cherished and carefully executed by everyone, adding a new breeze to preserve the vitality of these good scripts.

Perhaps my father also gave me strength and blessings for everything to go smoothly, and for meaningful works to be sent to the public today."

Que Tran also confided that it was the respect that everyone had for artist Thanh Tong that made her feel even more proud of her father. This gave her even more motivation to try to preserve and continue her father's good works for the next generation.

"I also do my best to do whatever I can. Luckily, I have my older uncles and aunts by my side to guide and support me wholeheartedly. My 5th generation brothers and sisters, and 6th generation grandchildren are always united in promoting the family's valuable assets.

"Fortunately, I met director Hoa Ha and composer Hoang Song Viet, who are sympathetic to my father's work. I don't dare promise anything, but I will try my best," said Que Tran.

Relatives return to remember artist Thanh Tong

The death anniversary of artist Thanh Tong was held with a vegetarian party in a cozy atmosphere with only family members and some close artists.

They are the brothers of artist Thanh Tong such as Truong Son, Thanh Loan, Cong Minh, Thanh Son, Chi Bao, Thanh Loc, musician Minh Tam, director Phuong Hoang. His grandchildren such as Tu Suong, Trinh Trinh, Ngoc Nga, Le Thanh Thao, Tu Quyen, Kim Thu, Bao Tram, Bao Truc...

There are also director Hoa Ha, writer Hoang Song Viet, artist Vo Minh Lam.

On the special day, everyone sat together and told beautiful memories about People's Artist Thanh Tong.

Director Hoa Ha confided that she respected Thanh Tong for both his talent and personality. Having seen many plays written and directed by him, she understood his passion and his serious attitude towards his artistic work.

This year, Dai Viet trusted her to stage two major plays by Minh To - Thanh Tong.

She affirmed that if the family, represented by Que Tran, needed, she would be willing to work with everyone to remake the family's good scripts. This work is not only meaningful in preserving and continuing the good scripts of Cai Luong Tuong Co but also meaningful for traditional arts in general.
