Asia's leading international mixed martial arts tournament returns to Vietnam

Accordingly, AFC 23 will take place tonight, March 10, at the luxury resort The Grand Ho Tram Strip (Ba Ria - Vung Tau). The event is organized by Cocky Buffalo, a martial arts training company and professional martial arts event organizer in Vietnam in collaboration with AFC and will be broadcast exclusively on VTVcab. The event will have a total of 8 matches (6 matches for men and 2 matches for women), bringing together leading names with extensive experience in regional and international martial arts arenas.

Angel's Fighting Championship (AFC) is a professional MMA tournament held periodically in Korea, gathering many quality international fighters to compete. AFC applies a very different competition format, helping to optimize the advantages of fighters specializing in grappling and limiting the attacks of fighters standing (Striking). This is quite new to Vietnamese fighters who are familiar with the formats of previous MMA tournaments. Accordingly, AFC allows the use of Heel, Hook and Twist (knee break, heel break, spine twist) in Grappling. In Vietnam, these choking techniques are considered very dangerous and are banned from competing in the MMA Lion Championship. This makes AFC considered the most dangerous and attractive MMA tournament in Asia because of the damage and surprise in each match.

At the end of October last year, this prestigious tournament made its debut in Vietnam with the very successful AFC 21 event, creating opportunities for many Vietnamese fighters to experience international MMA for the first time. After the success of AFC 21, the organizers decided to continue bringing this MMA tournament back to Vietnam with the AFC 23 event tonight, March 10, with 8 exciting matches. In particular, the highlight will be the competition between Vietnamese representative Hoang Nam Thang and Korean professional fighter Oh Su Hwan.

Oh Su Hwan (26 years old) is highly regarded in terms of experience and physique with a height of 1m75, 5cm taller than Nam Thang. The Korean fighter is considered a master of wrestling and grappling techniques with many years of MMA training.

This will certainly be a big challenge for Hoang Nam Thang, a talented Sanshou fighter known for his technical and fiery kicking style that he has demonstrated at the largest professional MMA arena in Vietnam, Lion Championship.

Besides the match between Nam Thang and Oh Su Hwan, the remaining matches also promise to be extremely attractive, such as the confrontation between undefeated Korean boxer Song Hyeon Jong and Brazilian boxer Felipe Negochadle, Uzbek Muay master Norov Azizbek and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu master Pablo Eduardo or beautiful "female fighter" Park Si Yoon with a history of standing combat (Korea) against Indonesian boxing master Harma Yesti,...
