BTO-With the increasing number of athletes and registered delegations, the 2024 Binh Thuan Provincial Youth Vovinam and Championship promises to be extremely attractive, bringing the audience exciting and dramatic matches.
The Binh Thuan Province Vovinam Youth and Championship took place from August 22 to 25 at the Phan Ri Cua Town Cultural and Sports Center (Tuy Phong). According to the tournament organizers: This year's tournament saw the participation of many clubs in the province, with nearly 400 athletes from 23 participating delegations. This shows that localities have paid attention and supported the Vovinam movement to continuously promote.
Athletes will compete in two categories: sparring and boxing. In the sparring competition, the youth age group from 11 to 13 years old competes in 6 male weight categories, 6 female weight categories and from 14 to 15 years old competes in 8 male weight categories, 7 female weight categories; the champion age group from 16 years old and up competes in 9 male weight categories, 8 female weight categories. In the boxing competition, the youth age group from 15 years old and under competes in 7 categories and the champion age group from 16 years old and up competes in 10 categories. In addition to the individual and team awards, based on the total number of medals achieved, the Organizing Committee will award the overall team prize to the outstanding unit.
This is the second time the tournament has taken place in Phan Ri Cua - a locality with a growing sports and physical training movement in recent times. In preparation for the tournament, the Tuy Phong District Culture, Sports and Radio and Television Center has coordinated to promote propaganda work by billboards along Thong Nhat Street, on the radio system, electronic information pages, and media channels. At the same time, together with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism , the Vovinam Viet Vo Dao Federation of the province has carefully prepared facilities, equipment, organization plans and competition programs to ensure fairness and objectivity.
As for the athletes participating in the tournament, with the spirit of martial arts, the students have also prepared carefully, promising to bring beautiful performances to the tournament.
Vovinam is a Vietnamese martial art, developed on a large scale with many students present in more than 40 countries around the world. In recent years, this sport has developed quite strongly, and many countries have paid attention to investing in its development. Particularly in Binh Thuan, this is a strong sport, taught in many schools. Therefore, the tournament is an opportunity for clubs in the province to exchange, interact, learn experiences, and improve technical and tactical skills to progress. Thereby, evaluating the training work and selecting typical athletes to supplement the provincial Vovinam team to compete in national tournaments.
