Supervise the handling of complaints, denunciations and recommendations of citizens at the City Citizen Reception Committee
(Haiphong.gov.vn) - On the afternoon of January 16, the Thematic Supervision Delegation of the Standing Committee of the City People's Council, led by Comrade Pham Quoc Ka, Head of the Legal Committee of the City People's Council, worked with the City Citizen Reception Committee on the settlement of complaints, denunciations and recommendations of citizens. Also attending were representatives of relevant departments, branches and units.

Working scene.
From July 2021 to the end of June 2023, the City Citizen Reception Committee received 1,487 citizens with 1,021 cases; including 117 cases received multiple times and 71 large groups. The Chairman and Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee received citizens 25 times. The City Citizen Reception Committee received 6,489 petitions and handled 1,045 petitions under the city's authority. The Committee promptly advised the leaders of the City People's Committee on guiding documents for citizen reception, handling complaints and denunciations. Notably, it advised and contributed to handling many complicated cases such as illegal clam farming in districts: Tien Lang, Kien Thuy, Hai An; site clearance of the new urban area North of Cam River; Tam Bac market fire; a group of citizens in Vinh Bao district..., contributing to ensuring security and order, limiting the situation of large, complicated gatherings and over-leveling.
The City Citizen Reception Committee has digitized 100% of the petitions and letters received from all sources; managed and monitored the processing of petitions and letters on the document management software system, and updated the petition processing status to facilitate management, monitoring, and synthesis.

At the meeting, the City Citizen Reception Committee proposed 4 issues to the Central Government and 2 issues to the city. It proposed that the City Party Committee and the City People's Council soon issue instructions on strengthening the responsibility of leaders in citizen reception and petition handling, especially before Party Congresses and elections of National Assembly and People's Council deputies at all levels; direct departments, branches and localities to arrange people with sufficient capacity, qualifications and work experience to do citizen reception and petition handling; have appropriate policies and regimes such as rewards and job rotation to promptly encourage those who do citizen reception work...

Through monitoring the records, listening to reports and opinions, the Monitoring Delegation acknowledged the efforts and endeavors of the City Citizen Reception Committee, gradually meeting the requirements; sharing the difficulties, obstacles and shortcomings in the work of receiving citizens. At the same time, it requested the City Citizen Reception Committee to coordinate more closely with sectors and localities to handle petitions and limit duplicate petitions.
