Supervise the handling of complaints, denunciations and recommendations of citizens at the City Inspectorate

(Haiphong.gov.vn) - On the afternoon of January 19, the Thematic Supervision Delegation of the Standing Committee of the City People's Council, led by Comrade Pham Quoc Ka, Head of the Legal Committee of the City People's Council, worked with the City Inspectorate on the settlement of complaints, denunciations and recommendations of citizens. Also attending were representatives of relevant departments, branches and units.

At the City Inspectorate, the work of receiving citizens, handling complaints and denunciations has always been of interest and identified as a key political task; the work of advising the City People's Committee to implement this work is always timely, in accordance with the actual situation in the city. The coordination with People's Committees at all levels, Departments, branches and relevant agencies in performing assigned tasks has been increasingly strengthened and focused. 01 citizen reception room has been arranged, fully equipped with facilities to serve the work of receiving citizens according to regulations; issued a document assigning 04 civil servants to regularly receive citizens, monitor and handle complaints, denunciations, recommendations and reflections. From July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2023, the City Inspectorate received 108 citizen receptions with 101 cases; received and handled 871 complaints, denunciations and recommendations.

At the meeting, the City Inspectorate requested the city to continue to pay attention to and direct the strengthening of citizen reception, complaint and denunciation settlement; including: strengthening the responsibility of Party committees at all levels in leading, directing and inspecting the settlement of complaints and denunciations; directing, inspecting and urging the effective implementation of regulations on complaint settlement and conclusions on denunciation settlement that have come into legal effect; promoting the application of information technology in management, administration, updating and receiving and resolving petitions, receiving citizens...

Through monitoring records, listening to reports and opinions, the Inspection Delegation assessed that the City Inspectorate promptly advised the City People's Committee to issue documents directing all levels and sectors to effectively implement the work of receiving citizens, resolving complaints and denunciations in the city; coordination with departments, sectors and localities has been increasingly strengthened, focusing on grasping the situation of petitions and complaints in the city; promptly advised the City People's Committee to consider directing and resolving to limit the situation of large gatherings of people, which can easily become "hot spots".

The monitoring delegation requested the City Inspectorate to continue to perform well its advisory role in assisting the City People's Committee in State management of citizen reception, handling complaints and denunciations, contributing to stabilizing the political security situation, social order and safety in the city; enhance the application of information technology in the management and operation of the inspection sector; promote propaganda and dissemination of legal regulations in the management field of the sector; pay attention to professional training, training and equipping knowledge and skills in citizen reception... The monitoring delegation will accept the recommendations of the City Inspectorate and report to competent authorities for consideration and decision.
