Monitoring and criticism need to better meet the needs of life.

During the past term, the Ninh Kieu District Fatherland Front Committee and its member organizations have well implemented the Resolution of the Congress and closely followed the local political tasks. The Fatherland Front and mass organizations at all levels have promoted their core role, effectively carried out propaganda, mobilization, and gathering of people from all walks of life; the spirit of self-management and creativity of the people has been promoted.

Notably, the Fatherland Front at all levels in the district coordinated to mobilize people to contribute more than 34 billion VND and 2,655 working days to expand and upgrade roads and alleys; install lighting, security cameras... Launched the registration of 37 practical works and tasks to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the establishment of Can Tho City under the Central Government and the 20th anniversary of the establishment of Ninh Kieu District, with a total amount of more than 3.8 billion VND. The District Fatherland Front Committee launched the construction of 18 models of "Model residential areas in terms of security, order, environmental sanitation, and urban civilization". The District and Ward Fatherland Front mobilized the "For the Poor" Fund for more than 5.5 billion VND.

From the “For the Poor” Fund and other resources, the Fatherland Front at all levels in the district has supported the repair and construction of 102 Great Solidarity houses; assisted the poor, those in difficult circumstances, provided medical examination and treatment, and poor and studious students. In addition, businesses and philanthropists directly gave gifts to more than 150,000 poor, near-poor, disadvantaged households, and orphans; awarded scholarships, donated textbooks, pens, notebooks, and clothes to students, etc.

In particular, during the term, the Fatherland Front and mass organizations at all levels in the district proactively selected the content and subjects and chaired the supervision of 237 meetings with many contents directly related to the legitimate rights and interests of the people. The Fatherland Front at all levels in the district organized 38 conferences to provide comments and social criticism on draft reports on the implementation of the People's Council's resolutions on socio -economic development, national defense and security and draft resolutions of the People's Council submitted at the People's Council meetings at the same level.

Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Can Tho City Nguyen Trung Nhan respectfully acknowledged, congratulated and commended the great achievements of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Ninh Kieu District in the past term. At the same time, Mr. Nhan emphasized that the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels needs to pay attention and have appropriate and creative methods so that the propaganda and mobilization work of the people brings practical results, helping people to comply with and implement the Party's guidelines and policies and laws of the State in the working environment and daily life.

“The implementation of building models and responding to campaigns needs to focus on novelty, efficiency and sustainability. In the past, although the district has had new and very good models, their efficiency and sustainability are not high, making it difficult to improve and replicate them,” Mr. Nhan noted, adding that the leading role of the Front in coordinating and unifying actions with member organizations at the same level is not tight in some places and at times; Monitoring and criticism activities are assessed as strong and have made much progress, but the effectiveness is not really high, not meeting the requirements to help authorities at all levels research, record and adjust activities to effectively carry out state management work, issue administrative documents in accordance with legal regulations, leading to violations, affecting the overall development of the district.
