In addition, at 32 years and 222 days, Ilkay Gundogan also became the oldest player to score a brace in an FA Cup final since Nat Lofthouse in 1958. Notably, both men did this when meeting Man Utd.

Coach Pep Guardiola became the third strategist in English football history to win both the Premier League and FA Cup in more than one season.

Previously, he helped Man City win these two titles in the 2018/19 season. Only Arsene Wenger (1997/98, 2001/02), Sir Alex Ferguson (1993/94, 1995/96, 1998/99) have similar achievements.

Man City have scored 150 goals in all competitions this season. This is only the fourth time in English football history that a club has reached 150 goals in a season. Notably, all three previous times were scored by Man City. They scored 156 goals in the 2013/14 season, 169 goals in the 2018/19 season and 150 goals in the 2021/22 season.

Man Utd have lost the most FA Cup finals with nine. The Red Devils last reached the final of the competition, losing 0-1 to Chelsea in 2017/18. They last won the FA Cup in 2015/16.

Finally, for the first time in English football history, both captains of two clubs scored in the FA Cup final. Along with Ilkay Gundogan (2 goals), Bruno Fernandes also contributed 1 goal for Man Utd from the penalty spot.
