Education in the capital has many improvements

The 2024-2025 school year marks a special milestone when Chu Van An High School (Tay Ho District) officially transforms into Chu Van An High School for the Gifted. Teacher Nguyen Thi Nhiep, Principal of Chu Van An High School for the Gifted, said that last school year, the school's students continued to affirm their bravery, intelligence and spirit of overcoming difficulties through impressive achievements in many academic and creative competitions. The whole school has 31 national excellent student awards, 277 city excellent student awards (including 33 first prizes), 674 cluster-level awards, and 62 awards at the excellent student competition of specialized schools in the Coastal and Northern Delta regions.

In addition to improving the quality of teaching and learning, the school focuses on comprehensiveeducation through traditional activities and career counseling. From inspiring learning skills and inspiration in grade 10, developing capacity in grade 11, to accompanying students in choosing schools and careers in grade 12 - each activity contributes to nurturing the soul and orienting the future of students. In recent years, Giang Vo Secondary School (Ba Dinh District, Hanoi ) has achieved many achievements. The 2024-2025 school year is the first year after separation, the school and class size has been reduced to 51 classrooms, 2,401 students and nearly 130 teachers. This is also the first year that all four grades will implement the 2018 general education program with new textbooks, new assessment methods, and many new teaching models and methods.

Sharing about these very special “firsts”, Ms. To Thi Hai Yen, Principal of Giang Vo Secondary School, said that last school year, the whole school’s students won 1,405 excellent student awards at the district, city, national and international levels. In the city’s excellent student competition for grade 9 cultural subjects, the school led Ba Dinh district with 40 awards, including 18 first and second prizes. Notably, the Natural Science subject - Living Things knowledge stream had three first prizes at the city level. The whole school had 801 students achieving the title of excellent students (accounting for 33.38%), with 1,936 students classified as good students (accounting for 80.67%).

Ms. Pham Thi Ngoc Thuy, Principal of the school, said that in the 2024-2025 school year, the school will promote fundamental and comprehensive innovation in education. With the strength of being a national standard school, the school has creatively and effectively applied major movements and campaigns of the industry such as: Schools join hands to develop - Teachers share responsibility; building a learning society and spreading the spirit of lifelong learning; creative innovation, improving quality, solidarity and discipline; strengthening political, ideological and moral education for students. Therefore, this school year, the school has one student winning a Gold Medal in the International Math Competition; 10 excellent students at the city level in culture, 343 excellent students at the district level...

Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training Tran The Cuong said that Hanoi currently has the largest education scale in the country with 2,913 kindergartens and general schools; 29 vocational education and continuing education centers. In the 2024-2025 school year alone, the city will build and establish 35 new schools; the rate of public schools meeting national standards in the whole city will reach nearly 80%; 23 high-quality schools will be recognized; and the investment in building seven advanced and modern inter-level schools with an area of 5 hectares or more will be focused on.

The education and training career of the Capital in the 2024-2025 school year has developed comprehensively at all levels and fields of study. 2.3 million students and more than 140,000 cadres and teachers of the Capital have achieved outstanding achievements: The high school graduation rate increased by five ranks; 18 students won international prizes; 200 students won prizes in national competitions for excellent students... Also in this school year, the city organized the admission of 168 students to the Party.
