Professor Nguyen Tien Thao is the Director of the Department of Higher Education.

Previously, on April 16, Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son signed a Decision on accepting and appointing Mr. Nguyen Tien Thao as Director of the Department of Higher Education for a term of 5 years.

Before being appointed as Director of the Department of Higher Education, Mr. Nguyen Tien Thao was Deputy Director of the Institute of Digital Training and Testing (VNU, Hanoi).

At the decision-giving ceremony, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Hoang Minh Son acknowledged that Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tien Thao has many years of working at Hanoi National University, with a lot of experience in training, testing, and quality assessment.

However, becoming the Director of the Department of Higher Education will be a new, important and heavy task, especially in the field of higher education, where there is much to do; including the need to always build the revised Law on Higher Education.

Mr. Nguyen Tien Thao was born in 1977, with the academic title of Professor. In 2012-2013, he was the head of the Department of Petroleum Chemistry; in 2013-2015, he was the Vice Head of the Faculty of Chemistry, University of Science (VNU, Hanoi).

In 2015-2021, he was Deputy Head of Training Department of VNU Hanoi; in 2020-2025, he held the position of Director of Testing Center, VNU Hanoi.
