Digital technology and artificial intelligence are compulsory subjects for new students at Hanoi National University.

In the context of strong digital transformation taking place globally, Hanoi National University has developed the course "Introduction to digital technology and artificial intelligence applications" to equip new students with basic knowledge.

This course is expected to be implemented from the 2025-2026 school year, in the form of fully online training.

According to information from Hanoi National University, equipping students with digital thinking and basic knowledge of artificial intelligence (AI) is no longer a choice, but has become a mandatory requirement for university students.

Realizing that, Hanoi National University has worked with training units to build a course to equip students with knowledge and popular tools about AI. Thereby, hoping that students can soon access and use these tools in their studies.

It is known that up to now, the Working Group established by the Board of Directors of Hanoi National University has researched and agreed to propose the Board of Directors to issue the course "Introduction to digital technology and artificial intelligence applications", applicable to all full-time university students from the 2025 enrollment period.

The course is designed with 3 credits, built according to a module structure, including compulsory and elective components suitable for different training fields such as: Natural Sciences, Engineering-Technology, Social Sciences and Humanities, Economics-Law, Foreign Languages ​​and Educational Sciences...

The basic knowledge and skills provided from these credits will become the premise for students to acquire specialized courses on AI technology and applications in a number of specialized fields of the training industry.

Not only stopping at teaching familiar knowledge and information as before, the course "Introduction to digital technology and artificial intelligence applications" also focuses on updated content, approaching the digital competency framework of many countries in the world. New students will learn about data mining, digital communication, creativity in digital environment, digital security, exploitation and application of artificial intelligence.

Knowledge modules are built in the form of integrating theory, practice and experience, through flexible teaching and learning forms such as: video lectures, situational simulations, practical exercises, projects, simple application products, online class groups and exchange of answers from lecturers and academic advisors.

The course also encourages students to develop independent and creative thinking, without relying on artificial intelligence. At the same time, it ensures academic integrity and ethical issues and responsibility in applying AI.
