Traffic on Rach Mieu Bridge paralyzed due to accident that killed one person

According to initial information, at around 4:40 p.m. on June 21, Mr. NVH (67 years old, residing in Thoi Son commune, My Tho city, Tien Giang ) was driving a motorbike with license plate 71F4 - 5019 on Rach Mieu bridge in the direction from Ben Tre to Tien Giang .

Accident scene

Just after passing the middle point of Rach Mieu bridge (in Ward 6, My Tho city, Tien Giang), Mr. H's car collided with a scooter with license plate 71B1 - 452.34 driven by a woman under 30 years old traveling in the same direction.

After the collision, the two motorcyclists fell onto the road. The woman was unfortunately run over by a tractor-trailer BS 50H - 050.34, pulling a trailer BS 51R - 219.96 traveling in the same direction, causing her to die on the spot. Mr. H. suffered minor injuries.

Traffic jams stretch over 6km at both ends of Rach Mieu Bridge

Because the accident scene occupied one direction on Rach Mieu Bridge from Ben Tre to Tien Giang, traffic across the bridge was congested at both ends for more than 6 km. The accident scene was cleared at 7:00 p.m. the same day.

Upon receiving the news, the Traffic Police Department of Tien Giang Province Police was present to coordinate with My Tho City Police and the Rach Mieu Bridge management unit to regulate traffic and investigate the cause of the accident.
