Her family has been involved in the cake wrapping profession for over 30 years, which is also a way to contribute to preserving the beauty of traditional customs during this mid-year festival.

Ms. Lieu confided: “This profession of wrapping banh u la tre was passed down to me from my husband’s grandmother. For more than 30 years, every Doan Ngo Festival, my family has been busy making banh u la tre to serve people to buy and offer to their grandparents and ancestors. My family feels happy and excited to preserve the traditional flavor of the cake, because it is a family tradition, although simple, it contains the dedication of many generations. Every year, my family serves the market with 700-800 thousand banh u, with about 160 workers.”
