Amidst the West's heated rhetoric over Moscow-Pyongyang military cooperation, North Korean leader meets Russian Defense Minister

The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said that during the talks, the two sides had extensive discussions on issues to further develop the comprehensive strategic partnership, including defense, protecting sovereignty , security, interests and international justice.

President Kim Jong Un said that Mr. Beloussov's visit to North Korea will greatly contribute to enhancing the defense capabilities of the two countries, ensuring security and is a useful opportunity to promote friendly cooperation and develop relations between the two armies.

Expressing deep concern over the escalating situation in Ukraine, the leader affirmed that the recent anti-Russian measures of the United States deserve condemnation from the international community because these are irresponsible actions that incite prolonged conflicts and threaten all of humanity.

Mr. Kim Jong Un commented that the US and the West's decision to force the Kiev government to attack Russian territory with their long-range weapons was tantamount to direct military intervention in the conflict.

Russia has the right to self-defense by taking decisive action to force hostile forces to pay the price, since they have become the aggressor in the war against Russia.

In addition, clear action is needed to send a signal that US-led provocateurs will not benefit from ignoring Russia's warnings, and Moscow's recent counterattack against Ukraine is a timely measure to show the enemy the seriousness of the situation as well as the Kremlin's will to respond firmly.

According to the President of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, the government , army and people of the DPRK will always support the policy of the Russian Federation in protecting its sovereignty and territorial integrity against imperialist hegemonic moves.

Recognizing that the strong Russia-DPRK relations serve as a powerful security device for promoting the well-being of the people of the two countries, easing regional tensions and ensuring national strategic stability, Kim Jong Un expressed his will to further expand and develop the relations between the two countries in all fields, including politics, economy and military, in accordance with the agreement reached at the DPRK-Russia Summit in Pyongyang in June.
