On October 22, the management board of Sam Mountain National Tourist Area (An Giang province) held a press conference to provide information on the plan to arrange ticket sales and inspection points.

Sam Mountain National Tourist Area was recognized as a national tourist area in 2018, including a complex of 5 relics: Ba Chua Xu Temple of Sam Mountain, Thoai Ngoc Hau Tomb, Tay An Pagoda, Hang Pagoda and Chau Phu Communal House.
This place attracts millions of visitors every year. However, recently, people and the press have often complained about the unreasonable placement of entrance fee points here.
At the same time, public opinion also raised the issue of "overcharging" when selling sightseeing tickets to locals and tourists. The checkpoints are about 1km away from the Lady Temple, many people do not need to go to the temple, but they are charged a fee to enter this area.

According to Mr. Truong Huu Tien, Director of the Management Board, the above limitations are due to the specific nature of the tourist area, as it is located interspersed with residential areas, leading to difficulties in organizing the collection of entrance fees.
Mr. Tien said that under the direction of the Provincial People's Committee, the Management Board has coordinated with relevant agencies and localities to conduct surveys, research and develop plans for the arrangement of ticket sales and inspection points. This is to ensure scientificity , correct and sufficient collection, and minimize impacts on people, tourists and businesses.
“The Management Board will arrange 3 ticket checking points: the beginning of the walking street in front of Tay An Pagoda, the end of the walking street in front of Vinh Te Communal House and the entrance to the back gate of Ba Temple on Chau Thi Te Street (from the entrance 30m towards Ba Temple).
At the same time, the Management Board also plans to arrange ticket counters at 3 places: the tourist transit point of the Management Board of Sam Mountain National Tourist Area - Vinh Dong Commercial Center area; the old sculpture area on Tan Lo Kieu Luong Street near the water supply station; the end of the walking street in front of Vinh Te communal house", the director of the Management Board informed.

In addition, during peak times (January and February of the lunar calendar every year), the Management Board arranges 2-3 more ticket sales points on Tan Lo Kieu Luong and Le Dai Cuong streets (in front of Vinh Dong Market Trade Center) to reduce pressure on ticket sales point number 2, creating the most convenience for tourists to buy tickets.
At the press conference, the leader of the Sam Mountain National Tourist Area Management Board said that the above plan will be implemented in the fourth quarter of this year. At the same time, the management unit also removed 3 current toll collection points to ensure the safety of the task force and create conditions for smooth traffic.

According to Mr. Tien, the new point of this plan is that the ticket sales and control will gradually shift from manual to electronic form, applying technology for management. Ticket sales will be diversified with many forms for tourists to choose from such as: online ticket sales, ticket sales at hotels and motels by QR code scanning payment, direct sales at the counter...
Regarding the situation of street vendors encroaching on the sidewalk, touts, and soliciting, causing trouble for tourists, the Management Board continues to coordinate with the People's Committees of Vinh Te and Chau Doc wards to strengthen inspection and handling, ensuring security, order, and safety.
Mr. Nguyen Trung Thanh - Deputy Director of the Provincial Department of Tourism - said that in the process of arranging ticket sales and inspection points at the Sam Mountain national relic site as planned above, the Department will regularly review to make timely adjustments.
