Before marching to Thailand to compete in the 33rd SEA Games, U22 Vietnam will participate in the international football tournament CFA Team China Panda Cup 2025 (Chengdu, Sichuan, China) from November 12 to 18.

The tournament promises to be exciting when U22 Vietnam competes with the continent's top youth teams, South Korea, China and Uzbekistan.

In the friendly tournament in China in March 2025, under the leadership of Acting Head Coach Dinh Hong Vinh, U22 Vietnam played impressively with an undefeated record (tied U22 Korea 1-1, drew U22 Uzbekistan 0-0 and drew host U22 China 1-1), thereby winning third place overall. Goalkeeper Cao Van Binh was voted the tournament's best goalkeeper by the Organizing Committee.

CFA Team China Panda Cup 2025 helps U22 Vietnam have a quality preparation not only for SEA Games 33, but also the AFC U23 Championship taking place in January 2026.

According to the plan, U22 Vietnam will gather again at the same time as the national team during FIFA Days in November 2025. Because coach Kim Sang Sik is busy leading the Vietnamese team in the second leg against Laos in the final qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup, it is likely that assistant Dinh Hong Vinh will be the one directly in charge of U22 Vietnam.

According to the match schedule just announced by the Organizing Committee, U22 Vietnam will play the opening match against host China at 6:35 p.m. on November 12, then meet Uzbekistan (2:30 p.m. on November 15), and South Korea (2:30 p.m. on November 18).
