Vietnam Golf receives good news from the world's most prestigious team arena

The World Amateur Team Championships (WATC), the world’s most prestigious amateur team competition, is held every two years under the auspices of the International Golf Federation (IGF). This year, the tournament will take place in Singapore from October 1 to 4, bringing together the best male and female golfers representing countries and territories around the world.

After the men's team was confirmed to participate in the Eisenhower Trophy at WATC, the Vietnamese golf community continued to receive good news when the women's team also officially won a place in the Espirito Santo Trophy.

This is the first time in many years that both the Vietnamese men's and women's golf teams have participated in a WATC, a historic turning point, clearly demonstrating the strong, even and sustainable development of the domestic amateur golf movement, especially in the women's category.

The official members of the Vietnamese women's team will be announced by the Vietnam Golf Association (VGA ) in the near future. According to VGA, preparations and training are being urgently implemented to ensure that golfers are in the best form when entering this top arena.

According to the rules, each team of 3 athletes competes in 4 rounds, with team results calculated based on the best total score of 2 out of 3 athletes in each round.

VGA said that the event is part of the official competition system of the National Team, and is one of the key goals of Vietnamese golf in 2025, along with the SEA Games and the Asian Youth Games (Youth Asiad).

WATC 2025 promises to be an important milestone, affirming the rising position of Vietnamese golf on the world map, a journey that both men and women take together, adding confidence and aspiration to the young generation of golfers in the country.
