Sending trust and expectations for Hanoi to develop further

This is an important political event of the Capital. Before the Congress, the enthusiastic opinions of party members, former leaders and experts were sent, expressing great confidence and expectations in the upcoming development path of Hanoi, aiming to realize the goal of becoming a smart city, the leading economic, cultural and scientific center of the country.

Looking back at the 2020 - 2025 term, Hanoi has achieved quite comprehensive achievements. Former Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Pham Quang Nghi assessed that the most outstanding achievement is the economic growth rate always maintained at nearly 7%. Although this growth rate is not the highest in the country, with a large economic scale, this is a great effort and an important contribution to the overall development of the country.

In addition, the capital develops in a stable political, security, defense and foreign affairs. In particular, Hanoi always pays attention to social issues such as employment, income, culture, education , health... with indicators always higher than the national average. Hanoi in the past 5 years has been stable and developed with solid and comprehensive steps.

However, facing the requirement of rapid and sustainable development, the former Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee expressed his expectations and demands for Hanoi to be "more" such as: more dynamic and creative; faster and more comprehensive development in economy, culture and society; and a pioneering, exemplary and leading role also need to be higher.

Former Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Pham Quang Nghi emphasized: Hanoi needs to make a breakthrough in terms of thinking, methods and leadership and direction style. The core issue is the need for a more dynamic mindset, a higher sense of responsibility and greater autonomy, determination and strength. He proposed that the Central Government decentralize more to Hanoi so that the City can take responsibility and decide on tasks within its authority and responsibility.

According to Professor Phung Huu Phu, former Standing Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, the draft Political Report of the 18th Congress of Hanoi Party Committee has been elaborately constructed, with a clear and scientific structure and comprehensive content, demonstrating the stature of a political, cultural and economic center of the whole country. However, Professor Phung Huu Phu noted that Hanoi needs to show high determination in overcoming bottlenecks. The Political Report has clearly pointed out the limitations and shortcomings and in addition to promoting resources, the City needs to be determined to thoroughly overcome those bottlenecks.

Mr. Dao Xuan Van, a veteran party member with 77 years of Party membership (Khuong Dinh ward) hopes and expects that this City Party Congress will set out goals, measures, and targets that are truly encouraging, motivating, and positive in all aspects (economy, culture, society, security, national defense), bringing peace of mind and excitement to everyone. At the same time, the Congress will select and arrange a team of cadres with sufficient capacity, qualifications, and representative of the human resource strength of the Capital. With a lot of difficult work, especially new work, Hanoi needs a team of cadres with sufficient capacity and qualifications to handle the issues that will arise in the upcoming term...
