Netherlands, Italy, Croatia strive to find tickets to Euro 2024

In addition to host Germany, Euro 2024 has determined 8 teams that have qualified to participate, including Spain, Scotland, France, England, Türkiye, Belgium, Austria and Portugal.

The Euro 2024 qualifiers have 53 European teams participating and the top two teams in 10 groups (20 teams in total) and hosts Germany will officially qualify. The remaining 3 spots are calculated based on the teams' rankings in the UEFA Nations League (not including teams that have qualified for Euro 2024 through the qualifying round).

From November 16 to November 22, the Euro 2024 qualifiers will play their final two matches to determine the remaining teams to win tickets to the most prestigious tournament in Europe. Many of the current groups are still undecided and promise to be very exciting.

In Group A, both Spain and Scotland officially have tickets to Euro 2024 with 15 points each, 5 points more than Norway. Erling Haaland and his teammates only have one match left and cannot have the chance to compete for the top two positions in the group.

In Group B, France have secured their ticket to Germany with a perfect 18 points after 6 matches. The Netherlands (6 matches) and Greece (7 matches) are on 12 points. The Netherlands have the advantage of having two remaining matches against Ireland and Gibraltar, while Greece have to face the strongest team in the group, France.

In Group C, England have secured a ticket to Euro 2024 with 16 points from 6 matches. Ukraine is second with 13 points from 7 matches while Italy has only 10 points from 6 matches. Italy will level the score with Ukraine if they beat North Macedonia in the penultimate match.

The direct confrontation between Ukraine and Italy in the final round will be decisive for the ticket to Euro 2024, in a match that the Italians cannot afford to lose. After missing the 2022 World Cup, the Azzurri will face disaster if they continue to be absent from Euro, the tournament in which they are the defending champions.

In Group D, Türkiye have booked their place in Germany next summer with 16 points from seven games, while Wales and Croatia have only managed 10 points from six. In the final two matches, Croatia will face Latvia and Armenia, while Wales will face Türkiye and Armenia.

In Group E, four teams, including Albania (13 points), the Czech Republic (11 points), Poland (10 points) and Moldova (9 points), all have a chance to compete for the top two spots. In the penultimate match, Moldova will face Albania while the Czech Republic will face Poland. In the final match, the Czech Republic will face Moldova while Albania will face the weakest team in the group, the Faroe Islands.

In Group F, Belgium and Austria have officially secured tickets to Euro 2024 when they firmly hold the top two positions with 17 and 16 points, respectively. Sweden is in third place with far fewer points than the two opponents and must wait for an opportunity in the UEFA Nations League.

In Group G, Hungary (14 points/6 matches) and Serbia (13 points/7 matches) have a big advantage over Montenegro (8 points/6 matches). Hungary and Serbia both have matches against Bulgaria while Montenegro meets Lithuania. The direct confrontation between Hungary and Montenegro in the final round will be decisive for the situation in this group.

In Group H, Slovenia and Denmark are in a good position with 19 points each, while Kazakhstan is third with 15 points. Denmark and Slovenia will face each other, while Kazakhstan will face San Marino in the penultimate match. In the final match, Denmark will face Northern Ireland, while Kazakhstan and Slovenia will compete directly for a ticket to Euro 2024.

In Group I, Switzerland and Romania (both with 16 points) have an advantage over Israel (12 points). Romania will have two decisive matches against both Switzerland and Israel, so they cannot afford to stumble. Switzerland has one more match against Kosovo, while Israel will face a weak opponent, Andorra, in the final round.

In Group J, Portugal won all 8 matches, earning 24 absolute points and a ticket to Euro 2024, the remaining spots were divided equally between Slovakia (16 points), Luxemburg (11 points) and Iceland (10 points). In the penultimate round, Slovakia and Iceland faced off directly while Luxemburg met Bosnia. In the final round, Iceland faced Portugal, Luxemburg met Liechtenstein and Slovakia met Bosnia.
