After more than 3 weeks of propaganda and mobilization, up to now, more than 50 individual business households in La Phu area, An Khanh commune, Hanoi city have voluntarily handed over goods with a quantity of about 25 tons of confectionery, various foods (red apples, sausages, dry food...) which are expired goods, of unknown origin, and smuggled goods.
Previously, media agencies published articles about people in many localities dumping large quantities of goods and food of unknown origin, polluting the environment and creating public outrage.
Including La Phu commune, Hoai Duc district (old), now An Khanh commune, Hanoi city.
Immediately after receiving the feedback, Market Management Team No. 24, Hanoi City Market Management Department coordinated with the Economic Police Department, Hanoi City Police and La Phu Commune authorities to verify and clarify the information.
Through verification, the authorities have clarified that the landfill at the beginning of La Phu village is mainly domestic waste and waste from the production and trading of confectionery in La Phu commune, dumped by people.
The food dumped in the landfill includes cakes, candies, nuts, dried fruits, jellies, etc. that have expired since 2024, including printed goods produced in Vietnam and abroad.
In particular, the authorities have determined that Duc Phuong Food Processing Business (address at No. 11, Lane 167, La Phu Street, Chua Tong Village, La Phu Commune, former Hoai Duc District, Hanoi City), owned by Nguyen Viet Dung (born in 1967), had dumped defective and spoiled food produced by the facility into the above-mentioned landfill.
Next, the interdisciplinary working group between the City Police (chaired by the Director of Hanoi City Police) and the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade came to grasp the actual situation and met and discussed with nearly 500 representatives of enterprises and production and business households in La Phu.
Thereby, calling on enterprises and business households in La Phu commune to strictly comply with the provisions of the law; not to evade taxes; not to produce or trade in smuggled, counterfeit, fake or poor quality goods.
Especially food, foodstuffs, and medicines because they directly affect the rights and health of consumers.
At the same time, call on people to voluntarily hand over and destroy goods and food that do not meet business conditions.
In the coming time, the police will coordinate with functional forces to strengthen inspection and handling of enterprises and production and business households that violate the law, creating a fair, civilized and competitive business environment in accordance with the law, protecting the rights of consumers.
After the working session, the City Police coordinated with the authorities of La Phu commune (old) to notify and mobilize organizations and individuals involved in production and business activities to voluntarily hand over expired goods such as candies, foods of all kinds (red apples, sausages, dried food...), unknown origin, and smuggled goods at the headquarters of the People's Committee of La Phu commune.
As a result, by the end of July 9, more than 50 individual business households in La Phu, An Khanh commune (Hanoi) had voluntarily surrendered goods with a quantity of about 25 tons of candy, various foods (red apples, sausages, dried food...).
Currently, local authorities continue to encourage people to voluntarily hand over illegal goods for destruction according to regulations./.
