Hanoi bans summer tutoring

The Hanoi Department of Education and Training requires schools to absolutely not organize extra teaching or learning in any form during the summer vacation.

The above content is included in the Plan for organizing summer activities for students in 2025, recently issued by the Hanoi Department of Education and Training.

Accordingly,educational institutions need to make plans to review culture and improve knowledge for weak and poor students; not organize extra teaching and learning in any form, not organize teaching in advance of the program; not review, practice for exams, tests, or surveys to arrange classes for the 2025-2026 school year.

"Educational institutions must strictly implement the regulations of Circular 29/2024 of the Ministry of Education and Training on extra teaching and learning," the Hanoi Department of Education and Training emphasized.

For preschool level, schools base on actual conditions and parents' need to send their children, the voluntary spirit of teachers registering to work in the summer, from there develop a plan to organize summer activities, report to the People's Committee of the commune, ward, or town.

For high school level, at the end of the school year, the school proactively coordinates with the local Youth Union and Pioneer Council to develop an activity plan, organize the handover of students to local summer activities and receive students back when the new school year begins.

The school needs to coordinate with the parents' representative committee, departments and branches, to take timely measures to deal with students who show signs of disobedience; not to let bad guys take advantage of and entice students to participate in social evils, illegal religious propaganda activities and illegal activities.

According to Hanoi's 2024-2025 school year schedule, preschool and general education will finish the second semester program before May 29 and end the school year before May 30.
