Hanoi bans summer tutoring.

The Hanoi Department of Education and Training requires schools to absolutely refrain from organizing extra classes or tutoring in any form during the summer break.

The above content is included in the Plan for organizing summer activities for students in 2025, recently issued by the Hanoi Department of Education and Training.

Accordingly, educational institutions need to develop plans for reviewing academic subjects and providing remedial instruction for weak and underperforming students; they must not organize extra classes or tutoring in any form, nor teach ahead of the curriculum; and they must not conduct review sessions, exam preparation, tests, or surveys for class placement in the 2025-2026 school year.

"Educational institutions are strictly implementing the regulations of Circular 29/2024 of the Ministry of Education and Training on supplementary teaching and learning," the Hanoi Department of Education and Training emphasized.

For preschools, schools base their summer activity plans on actual conditions, parental demand for childcare, and the voluntary participation of teachers, and then report these plans to the People's Committee of the commune, ward, or town.

For secondary schools, at the end of the school year, the school proactively coordinates with the local Youth Union and Children's Council to develop activity plans, organize the handover of students to participate in summer activities in their local area, and receive students back when the new school year begins.

The school needs to coordinate with the parent-teacher association and relevant departments to promptly address students exhibiting unruly behavior; preventing malicious individuals from exploiting and luring students into social vices, illegal religious propaganda activities, and other law-breaking activities.

In addition, schools and local authorities need to coordinate in organizing recreational activities, life skills training, and physical education and sports activities; encouraging students to participate in these activities...

According to Hanoi's 2024-2025 school year timetable, preschool and primary/secondary schools will finish the second semester before May 29th and the school year will end before May 30th.
