In August and September 2025, the Hanoi Cultural Center and Library will coordinate with units to organize a series of propaganda films and art performances to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025), the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), the 80th anniversary of the People's Public Security Traditional Day and the 20th anniversary of the National Day for National Security Protection.
This is a meaningful cultural-cinematic activity, an opportunity for the public of the capital to enjoy documentary and feature films rich in historical and artistic values, recreating the heroic atmosphere of the historic autumn days and the brilliant milestones in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
Accordingly, 80 mobile film screenings were held to serve people in wards and communes; workers in industrial parks and export processing zones; students of universities, colleges, high schools, vocational schools; and prisoners in reform and education camps in Hanoi.
In parallel with the mobile film screenings, there will be 40 screenings at Kim Dong Cinema (19 Hang Bai, Cua Nam) and 2-9 Cinema (9 Le Lai, Son Tay) on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights from August 1 to September 15.
Hanoi Cultural Center and Library organized a film screening combined with an art performance on the evening of August 22, at the outdoor stage of Phu Dien Ward Culture-Information and Sports Center (6 Vo Quy Huan, Phu Dien, Hanoi).

Through cinematographic works, the audience of the capital can review the heroic history of the nation, thereby raising awareness and sense of responsibility in the cause of building, protecting and developing the country as well as enjoying many revolutionary cinematographic works with artistic value and meaning such as: "Sao thang 8", "Hanoi mua dong 46", "Hanoi 12 days and nights", "Nga ba Dong Loc", " Dao, pho va piano", " Canh dong hoang" ...
Notably, some films with a strong Hanoian character were broadcast on this occasion, such as: "Peach, Pho and Piano" by director Phi Tien Son depicting the fierce war period in the capital's streets during the war in late 1946 and early 1947. The organizers wanted to bring to the audience realistic and touching footage of Hanoi during the years of resistance against the French. Through stories of love, friendship, and comradeship, "Peach, Pho and Piano" vividly recreates the life, patriotism, and indomitable resilience of Hanoians during the arduous but heroic years of fighting.
Like “Peach, Pho and Piano,” “Hanoi in Winter of 1946,” directed by Dang Nhat Minh, includes many images depicting the lifestyle and culture of the people of Hanoi, and more broadly, the Vietnamese people, in a chaotic context. This is a revolutionary war film about the last days of 1946, before the outbreak of the National Resistance War, opening three decades of heroic fighting by the Vietnamese people to protect the independence and unification of the country. Under the talented hands of director Dang Nhat Minh, the impressive cinematic language and the immersive acting of the cast of artists and actors Tien Hoi (in the role of President Ho Chi Minh ), Ngo Quang Hai, Vo Hoai Nam, Hoa Thuy, Quoc Tuan, Quach Thu Phuong, Mai Thu Huyen, etc., “Hanoi in Winter of 1946” has contributed to vividly recreating a short but tragic and emotional historical period.
Or the movie "Hanoi 12 Days and Nights" - The movie takes the theme of the Revolutionary War and is very elaborately presented with the purpose of recreating part of the Dien Bien Phu battle in the air - a fierce battle of the Hanoi people against the strategic raid by B-52 aircraft of the American empire in late December 1972, forcing the US Government to sign the Paris Agreement to bring peace to North Vietnam.

“Hanoi 12 Days and Nights” somewhat satisfied the audience with its aerial combat scenes, the moments of missile and anti-aircraft artillery destroying B52s, and the use of computer effects and stereoscopic surround sound to express a large, fierce, and difficult battle.
The MiG-21 takeoff scene or the scene of missiles tearing through the night with sound effects and fire and smoke "looks" like an attractive "blockbuster" war movie, making a strong impression on viewers...
Through the above series of activities, the people of the capital are more proud of their national traditions, foster love for their homeland, the will to be self-reliant, spread the message of gratitude to previous generations, continue the aspiration to contribute, bring the country to new heights, and enter an era of growth./.
