Hanoi FC missed the chance to narrow the gap with Thanh Hoa

Hanoi was held to a 1-1 draw by Da Nang at Hang Day in the latest match of round 8 of V-League 2023, Hanoi FC is still three points behind the top of the table Thanh Hoa.

Hanoi FC opened the score in the ninth minute. Vu Minh Tuan crossed from the right wing to the second post, for Pham Tuan Hai to head in to open the score.

Center back Mauricio Pinto cut through the near post and headed the ball, hitting Marcao and flying into the net.

In the second half, Hanoi FC could not speed up their attack. Not only that, they also had a heart attack when Da Nang counterattacked and almost scored from Ha Minh Tuan's close-range mistake.

To find a breakthrough, coach Bozidar Bandovic sent two U22 players Nguyen Van Tung and Nguyen Van Truong onto the field. Thanks to that, Hanoi FC's attack improved, continuously causing chaos in the opponent's goal in the last 20 minutes of the match.

In the 64th minute, Van Tung missed a goal from an empty goal from Lucao do Break's cross. In the 71st minute, Hai Long kicked a deep free kick to the second post for Tuan Hai to escape and tap in from close range but missed. Then, from a corner kick, Duy Manh headed the ball smoothly, but Van Tung volleyed it straight into the opponent's body in the 80th minute. Three minutes later, Van Truong crossed to the wing for Tuan Hai to make a beautiful header, but the ball hit the crossbar.

Hanoi FC pressed until the fifth minute of extra time with a header from Duy Manh, but the ball fell into Van Bieu's hands. The capital team had to accept a 1-1 draw with Da Nang.

Hanoi FC went through their second consecutive match without a win in V-League 2023 after losing 1-3 to Binh Dinh in round 7. Meanwhile, Da Nang is still winless with four draws and four losses.

Da Nang currently has four points, ranking 13th, equal to Ho Chi Minh City but ranked higher due to a better goal difference (-4 compared to -9). Ha Noi FC has 15 points, reclaiming second place from Ha Noi Police Club, but missed the opportunity to close the gap with Thanh Hoa - the leading team with 18 points due to a 2-2 draw with HAGL this round.
