Hanoi: Finished fixing the phenomenon of mud rising to the ground in the Nui Truc alley area

On the afternoon of August 6, information from the Hanoi Urban Railway Management Board (MRB) said that the phenomenon of mud overflowing to the ground during the tunnel drilling process has been controlled, the affected area is currently being cleaned, the scope of the area is narrowed and the ground is restored.

Previously, in the early morning of August 6, 2025, in the Nui Truc alley area, during the tunnel construction process using TBM No. 2 (Tunnel Boring Machine) of the underground section of the Hanoi Pilot Urban Railway Project, the Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station section, a mixture of mud and water overflowed to the ground.

Immediately after discovering the incident, the investor, consultants, contractors and local authorities were present at the scene to coordinate and supervise the handling work. The project urgently mobilized 30 personnel and 5 mud suction trucks, specialized equipment, sandbags and materials, and temporarily fenced off the area to conduct zoning, collection, treatment of mud, cleaning the area of the mud mixture that erupted, while closely monitoring all TBM construction activities, ...

After a few hours of handling, the mudflow has been controlled, the affected area is currently being cleaned, the scope is narrowed and the site is being restored. According to initial assessment, the affected area is small and is under control, no damage to people or surrounding works or infrastructure has been recorded.

Sludge suction trucks were mobilized to handle the incident.

It is known that ground monitoring has been continuously deployed throughout the tunnel drilling process and is still within the allowable limit index, ensuring safety. The second TBM of the Project has drilled 1040m of tunnel, currently continuing construction under the close supervision of consultants and investors.
