Hanoi sets up checkpoint to handle overloaded vehicles crossing Duong Bridge

Chief Inspector of the Hanoi Department of Transport Tran Nhat Quang has just requested the District Transport Inspection Teams: Long Bien, Gia Lam, Road Bridge, Road to coordinate with Ha Hai Railway Joint Stock Company to inspect and verify information about road vehicles with a load capacity of over 13 tons traveling through Duong Bridge.

At the same time, coordinate with the police force, local authorities and functional forces to increase patrols, inspections and control of cargo vehicle loads passing through Duong bridge, prevent and handle administrative violations according to authority.

Previously, according to the management unit of Duong bridge, every day hundreds of trucks weighing tens of tons still freely cross Duong bridge every day, despite the ban on trucks weighing more than 13 tons crossing the bridge. The risk of Duong bridge collapse hangs in the balance when the road surface and expansion joints are frequently damaged, and the bridge frequently shakes.

According to Giao thong Newspaper's reporter, Duong Bridge currently has a very high traffic volume. The bridge has 3 separate parts including a railway in the middle, and two sides are roads for two-way traffic from the center of Hanoi to Bac Ninh and from Bac Ninh to the center. Trains only run occasionally, but road vehicles on the bridge and waterway vehicles under the bridge are always busy.
