According to Mr. Duong Duc Tuan, the support policy will be built on the basis of careful review, classification by user group and vehicle type, from which appropriate support packages will be proposed.
It is expected that the Hanoi People's Committee will submit to the Hanoi People's Council for consideration and promulgation of a policy to support almost all conversion costs, including registration fees and new electric vehicle registration fees.
In parallel with the roadmap for converting personal vehicles, the city promotes investment in developing a green transport system in the beltway 1 area, including: expanding small electric bus routes (8-12 seats), putting into operation 4-seat electric buses for inner-city transit, and accelerating the progress of urban railway routes.
Of which, two urban railway lines Cat Linh - Ha Dong and Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station have passed through this area, the West Lake - Hoa Lac and Nam Thang Long - Tran Hung Dao lines will continue to be deployed.
Regarding clean energy infrastructure, Hanoi will add planning for charging stations for electric cars and motorbikes. In the immediate future, priority will be given to arranging charging points in parking lots, static traffic areas and in residential buildings to facilitate people using electric vehicles.
“The city will provide maximum support to the right group of users, creating the most favorable conditions for residents living in the beltway 1 area as well as those who regularly travel to this area,” said Mr. Duong Duc Tuan.
Mr. Le Thanh Nam, Chief of Office of Hanoi People's Committee, said that the city has decided to establish an interdisciplinary working group, tasked with advising Hanoi People's Committee to organize the implementation of contents related to green transportation, develop electric vehicle charging station infrastructure and propose arising tasks according to reality.
At the same time, the Hanoi People's Committee assigned departments and branches to make a comprehensive plan for many contents, including taking into account issues related to people living in restricted areas.
