On January 18, the Hanoi Department of Transport and Pacific Construction Group (China), Vietnam Construction and Import-Export Joint Stock Corporation (Vinaconex) signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in research, investment, and construction of a number of key projects in the city.
This is a sideline activity of the Scientific Workshop on Urban Railway System Development of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City taking place in Hanoi.
According to the memorandum of understanding, the parties involved agreed to cooperate and share experiences in implementing research on key transport infrastructure projects in Hanoi , focusing on two projects.
Firstly, the investment project to build Tu Lien bridge and the road from Tu Lien bridge to Hanoi - Thai Nguyen expressway with a total route length of about 11.5km from Nghi Tam intersection to Ring Road 3 intersection (Hanoi - Thai Nguyen expressway); build Tu Lien bridge with a length of 2.924km, of which the main bridge is 1km long, the cross-section scale according to the planning ensures 6 motor vehicle lanes, 2 mixed lanes and 2 pedestrian lanes... The preliminary total investment is about 20,000 billion VND.
Second, the investment project to build urban railway line No. 5, Van Cao - Ngoc Khanh - Lang - Hoa Lac section. The scale is double-track standard, electrified with a length of 38.43km (including 6.5km underground, 2km elevated and 29.93km above ground), 21 stations and 2 depot areas. The total preliminary investment is about 65,000 billion VND.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. Dao Ngoc Thanh - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vinaconex expressed that Vinaconex, with its potential and experience, has participated in many large traffic projects in the capital in particular and the whole country in general, and is eager to participate in investing and constructing key traffic infrastructure projects in Hanoi city.
Through this cooperation, Vinaconex and Pacific Construction Group commit to implementing projects that ensure quality, progress, and efficiency...
The Tu Lien Bridge project and metro line No. 5 Van Cao - Ngoc Khanh - Lang - Hoa Lac are among the key traffic projects in Hanoi, receiving special attention and care from the city's political system and people.
In particular, in the context of increasingly serious traffic congestion and the increasing need for traffic connection on both banks of the Red River, implementing the above two projects on time and on schedule is an urgent task .
