Manchester City's number 1 striker, Erling Haaland, has surpassed his opponents to officially win the European Golden Shoe for the 2022-23 season.
Erling Haaland scored 36 goals this season, reaching 72 points, far surpassing the scoring achievements of the two players right behind, Harry Kane (30 goals, 60 points) and Kylian Mbappe (29 goals, 58 points).
The top 5 scorers in Europe also include Alexandre Lacazette (27 goals, 54 points) and Victor Osimhen (26 goals, 52 points).
The top 5 European leagues (England, Italy, Germany, Spain, France) will be given a coefficient of 2 for each goal, while the other leagues will be given coefficients of 1.5 and 1 respectively.
With the above achievement, Erling Haaland became the first Premier League player to win the European Golden Boot award, since Luis Suarez did this in the 2013-14 season.
That season, the Uruguayan striker scored 31 goals for Liverpool and shared the Golden Boot award with Cristiano Ronaldo (scored 31 goals for Real Madrid).
Erling Haaland also made history at Manchester City when he became the first player from the Etihad Stadium team to win this individual title.
Previously, the Norwegian striker also won the title of top scorer in the highest league in England. Haaland was also voted Player of the Season, Best Young Player by the Premier League Organizing Committee and the Best Player award by the Football Writers' Association (FWA).
Erling Haaland is also sure to win the Champions League top scorer title this season with 12 goals.
With what he has shown, Erling Haaland is expected to continue to shine to help Manchester City defeat Inter Milan in the Champions League final (taking place on the morning of June 11).
