Hai Duong pumps water to some areas facing flooding difficulties

Many pumping stations managed by the District Irrigation Works Exploitation Enterprise and the Commune People's Committee are actively operating to pump water for flooding and planting.

Binh Giang district has about 200 hectares of rice fields in Thai Hoa and Binh Xuyen communes that have not yet received water. Since February 4, the Irrigation Works Exploitation Enterprise of this district has opened 2 meters of canal to build Thai Duong pumping station, and at the same time operated Thai Duong pumping station to supply water to several pumping stations to this area.

Also in Binh Giang district, there are currently about 300 hectares in Binh Xuyen, Nhan Quyen , and Thai Minh communes that are also facing difficulties with flooding. In case the second water discharge ends (from February 8-14), if this situation is not resolved, the district's Irrigation Works Exploitation Enterprise will install a field pumping station at O Xuyen 2 sluice, taking water from Dinh Dao River to pump for supply.

The Cam Giang District Irrigation Works Exploitation Enterprise has operated Tien Kieu pumping station to supply water to some areas facing difficulties in water inflow in Duc Chinh, Cam Vu, Cao An, Lai Cach, and Cam Dong communes. The enterprise will continue to operate Ghe, Cam Dien, Cam Dong A, and Luong Xa pumping stations to supply water to areas lacking water if the difficulties persist.

Gia Loc District Irrigation Works Exploitation Enterprise has agreed to operate locally managed pumping stations to supply water to areas with local water shortages.

In Thanh Mien district, Doan Tung A pumping station has also been put into operation to supply water to Doan Tung B pumping station. The Irrigation Works Exploitation Enterprise of this district has agreed with the localities to operate Chua Che and Dong Mau pumping stations to supply water to Quan Khoang and Pham Ly pumping stations.

The leader of the Provincial Irrigation Works Exploitation One Member Company Limited said that basically the work of taking water for flooding is going smoothly. Since the second day of Tet, many pumping stations in the province have been operating to serve flooding and planting. The water shortage only occurs locally in some of the above areas.

As of February 6, the entire province had flooded 45,522 hectares, reaching 83.5% of the total planned cultivated area. Ninh Giang is the first locality to have completed 100% of the cultivated area, many districts have flooded from 92-98% of the area.

Most of the winter-spring rice cultivation area in Hai Duong has been and is being flooded to prepare the land.

Kim Thanh, Nam Sach districts and Kinh Mon town have only been able to flood 33.7%-84.4% of the area because they are waiting for farmers to harvest the remaining crops. The water source for flooding in these localities is basically favorable.

According to the plan, from February 8 to 14, Hoa Binh Hydropower Reservoir will conduct the second water discharge to serve the winter-spring crop production. The Provincial Irrigation Works Exploitation One Member Co., Ltd. has requested its affiliated enterprises to mobilize and operate maximum manpower and machinery to pump water to the remaining areas and store water in the system to serve the planting and care of rice and crops.
