On the afternoon of January 7, the Department of Culture and Sports of Hai Phong organized a meeting to award player Nguyen Dinh Trieu, the best goalkeeper of AFF Cup 2024.
Hai Phong City Party Secretary Le Tien Chau met, presented a Certificate of Merit from the Chairman of the City People's Committee and awarded 550 million VND to Athlete Nguyen Dinh Trieu - Best Goalkeeper of the ASEAN Cup 2024 Tournament
On January 7, the Chairman of the City People's Committee awarded a Certificate of Merit and a bonus of VND 550 million (of which VND 500 million is from socialized funding and VND 50 million according to Resolution No. 24/2024/NQ-HDND dated December 6, 2024 of the City People's Council) to Nguyen Dinh Trieu after his achievement of winning the AFF Cup 2024 with the Vietnam National Team.
Nguyen Dinh Trieu was called up to the Vietnam national team for the first time and made his debut in a friendly match against Palestine in September 2023. At the AFF Cup 2024, this goalkeeper played 6 times in 8 matches, being the priority choice of coach Kim Sang-sik.
Dinh Trieu made many saves for his team, including excellent situations in the two semi-final matches against Singapore and the two final matches against Thailand. Dinh Trieu's performance played an important role in helping the Vietnamese team win the AFF Cup 2024 championship.
This goalkeeper is also in the group of 6 Vietnamese players receiving the Third Class Labor Medal.
