Ham Rong seeks a tourism identification symbol.

VHO - More than just a simple photo contest or logo design competition, the series of contests recently launched by the People's Committee of Ham Rong Ward (Thanh Hoa) is expected to unlock the tourism potential of this culturally rich land along the Ma River.

The People's Committee of Ham Rong Ward (Thanh Hoa Province) has announced the regulations for the 2026 tourism promotion and local tourism product innovation competitions.

On May 26th, the People's Committee of Ham Rong Ward (Thanh Hoa) held a conference to launch the plan and announce the rules for the competitions including: "Beautiful Photos of Ham Rong", "Designing a Logo for Ham Rong", and "Ideas for Tourism Development and Creative Tourism Products in Ham Rong" in 2026.

With the theme "Ham Rong - Land of Heritage," the photo contest aims to capture emotionally rich moments of nature, people, and local cultural life.

From the historic Ham Rong Bridge, Dragon Mountain - Ma River, Dong Son ancient village to folk festivals, traditional crafts, and everyday life… all can become artistic material to tell the story of a land rich in identity.

In parallel, the Ham Rong logo design competition is seen as a journey to find an official "identifying face" for the locality.

The organizers encourage authors to explore the historical, cultural, and spiritual depth of the Ham Rong region through evocative symbols such as the Dong Son bronze drums, Ham Rong bridge, Dragon Mountain - Ma River, or the system of famous historical sites and scenic spots.

Notably, the "Ham Rong Tourism Development and Product Innovation Ideas" competition expands the creative space for local people, businesses, and young people.

Models such as "a day as a farmer," "a day as a soldier," cave exploration tours, cycling through ancient villages, experiential tourism linked to agriculture and traditional crafts, or the application of digital technology in destination promotion are all encouraged.

Ham Rong Bridge (Ham Rong Ward, Thanh Hoa Province) spans the Ma River – a historical symbol associated with the heroic victories of the army and people of Thanh Hoa during the resistance war against the US.

Speaking at the conference, Ms. Le Thi Thanh, Vice Chairman of the Ham Rong Ward People's Committee, said that Ham Rong is a land rich in unique historical, cultural, and scenic values, but tourism development has not yet lived up to its potential.

“We hope that through these competitions, we will strongly promote the image of Ham Rong to domestic and international tourists; and at the same time, seek new ideas and products to contribute to boosting local tourism. This is also an opportunity for the community to work together to preserve and promote the value of the heritage with creative thinking and a modern touch,” Ms. Thanh shared.

According to the organizers, the competitions are open to all Vietnamese citizens living, studying, and working in the country, regardless of age.

The "Beautiful Ham Rong Photos" contest has a first prize of 10 million VND; the logo design contest has a first prize of up to 20 million VND.

Meanwhile, the tourism development and product innovation idea competition offers a first prize of 10 million VND along with many other attractive prizes.

The deadline for submitting entries is September 30, 2026. The awards ceremony is expected to be held at the end of the fourth quarter of 2026.
