The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has just sent a telegram to relevant units in the aviation industry to urgently deploy measures to respond to storm No. 3 (storm WIPHA).
Accordingly, in order to ensure maximum safety for passengers, vehicles and assets at airports and minimize negative impacts on flight operations, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam requires relevant agencies and units to organize 24/7 duty; strictly implement the storm and tropical depression response procedures in civil aviation activities.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam requests the Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV) and Van Don International Airport in the area affected by storm No. 3 to preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies and units to inspect the airport infrastructure system, communication system... to promptly detect and handle damage (if any) to ensure the safety of works, stations, and ensure safety for operations at airports.
Airports deploy plans to prevent rain and storms, measures to prevent flooding, clear the flow in airports, protect facilities, vehicles and equipment at airports, minimize damage caused by rain and storms and quickly stabilize all aviation activities to serve the needs of passengers; arrange 24/7 duty, proactively update meteorological information to promptly propose appropriate and safe exploitation plans; note that after the storm weakens and makes landfall, there is a risk of post-storm rain.
Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation (VATM) directs aviation meteorological service providers to strengthen the work of ensuring the quality of meteorological information; continuously monitor the weather situation in the area of responsibility, update forecasts and warnings; provide timely and complete monitoring, forecasting and warning information to users.
Airlines and flight safety service providers must strengthen coordination; closely monitor the developments of storm No. 3 to have plans to adjust flight plans or change flight schedules accordingly and ensure flight safety.
Airlines fully update meteorological information from relevant aviation meteorological agencies and based on the actual situation, deploy necessary response actions, minimize impacts on operations, ensure flight safety, and protect people and assets of the unit from natural disasters.
Currently, the 2025 storm season has begun and may affect passengers' travel plans. However, the Vietnamese aviation industry always puts the absolute safety of passengers and crew first. Therefore, the operating schedules and flight times of airlines may continue to be adjusted according to the developments of storm No. 3./.
