Students of Hung Vuong High School (District 5, Ho Chi Minh City) participate in the activity of reenacting the royal examination
"From the origin of Hung Vuong's ancestral land to Ho Chi Minh City" is the theme of a series of activities to experience the history, national culture, and the origin of the country organized by Hung Vuong High School (District 5, Ho Chi Minh City) these days.
Through booths set up by the departments of literature, history, geography, civiceducation , national defense and physical education, and foreign languages, students have the opportunity to see traditional costumes from different periods or participate in many traditional cultural and sports games such as throwing con, wrestling, bamboo pole dancing, wrapping banh chung, and writing calligraphy.

Teacher Phan Quan Thong, Head of the Literature Group at Hung Vuong High School, shared that through the activities, students have the opportunity to experience and learn more about the history of building and defending the country, the traditional cultural values of the nation, the process of preserving and developing these values in the land of Saigon-Gia Dinh over the past 300 years. From there, students will form patriotism, respect for the traditional cultural values of the nation and homeland.

In the activity of reenacting the royal examination, students participated in answering questions to learn more about traditional values and explore the cultural diversity of the Vietnamese people.
Students experience at the calligraphy art booth
At the calligraphy booth, the "giving letters" and calligraphy writing activities help students understand traditional cultural values and promote the value of calligraphy art in the younger generation.
Ly Anh Thu, a 10th grader at Hung Vuong High School, shared: "The experiential activities help us develop our love for art and appreciate the beauty of calligraphy. Moreover, this is an opportunity for students to learn more about the history, value and significance of calligraphy when living in a dynamic city and a modern society."

Mr. Duong Hoai Bao, Vice Principal of Hung Vuong High School, said that the experiential activities are all aimed at educating students about history, national traditions, commemorating the national reunification day and the sacred atmosphere of the Hung Kings' death anniversary.
The experience of making banh chung is considered a traditional activity of the school every Hung King's death anniversary. Teachers and former teachers guide students to make banh chung to connect the tradition between generations of teachers and students... These banh chung will be offered to the National Ancestor's altar on the holiday.
