Thousands of people in the West cheered for the ngo boat racing teams.

On the afternoon of November 27, the 2023 Ooc Om Boc - Ngo Boat Racing Festival in Soc Trang province officially ended after 2 days of exciting competition. Thousands of people from the Western provinces came to watch and cheer for the racing teams.

This year's Ngo boat race has 40 men's teams and 6 women's teams from 3 provinces: Soc Trang, Bac Lieu , Ca Mau participating in 2 events: 1,200m men's and 1,000m women's. The teams compete from November 26 - 27, on Maspero River, Soc Trang City.

Soc Trang provincial leaders awarded prizes to the winning Ngo Nam boat teams.

Regarding the prize structure, in the men's competition, the first prize is 200 million VND, the second prize is 150 million VND, the third prize is 100 million VND and the fourth prize is 80 million VND.

In the women's competition, the first prize is 150 million VND, the second prize is 100 million VND, the third prize is 80 million VND and the fourth prize is 50 million VND. There are also prizes for the first and second place teams and the winners of each round.

To encourage the athletes, the People's Committee of Soc Trang province supported each racing team with 30 million VND.

The female boat team of Tum Nup Pagoda (Chau Thanh District, Soc Trang) won first prize.

After 2 days of fierce competition, in the men's competition, the boat team of Tum Nup pagoda (Chau Thanh district, Soc Trang) won first prize; the boat team of Ong Kho pagoda (Thanh Tri district, Soc Trang) won second prize and the boat team of Sa Lon pagoda (My Xuyen district, Soc Trang) won third prize.

The boat team of Tum Nup pagoda (Chau Thanh district, Soc Trang) excellently won first prize.

For the women's team, first prize went to the Tum Nup pagoda boat team (Chau Thanh district, Soc Trang); the Prek Chek pagoda boat team (Nga Nam town, Soc Trang) won second prize and the Kos Thum pagoda boat team (Bac Lieu) won third prize.
