Nearly 140 candidates from island communes in Kien Giang province crossed the sea to the mainland to take the 2023-2024 high school graduation exam.

Among them, there are 63 students from Lai Son Secondary and High School (Lai Son commune, Kien Hai district) and 75 students from Nam Du and Hon Tre island communes.
According to the school principals, students pay for their own train tickets, bus tickets, and accommodations during the exam days in Rach Gia City, Kien Giang Province. For students with difficult circumstances, the Education Promotion Association will support part of the costs.

On the mainland, Kien Giang province police arranged specialized vehicles to pick up candidates from Rach Gia wharf to their accommodation.
In the opposite direction, Mr. Tran Quang Bao - Director of the Departmentof Education and Training of Kien Giang province - said that teachers and police forces also brought the exam papers across the sea to Phu Quoc on the morning of June 25.

"The exam papers are carefully sealed, with the support and supervision of the provincial police force. The exam papers are packed into 4 boxes and divided among the exam sites, ensuring absolute safety and no mistakes," said Mr. Bao.
The 2023-2024 high school graduation exam in Phu Quoc will have 3 exam locations with 62 exam rooms. It is expected that 161 exam supervisors will be assigned to teachers from 3 high schools and 45 more teachers from secondary schools in Phu Quoc City.
The whole Kien Giang province has 15,072 candidates taking the exam, arranged 650 exam rooms at 26 exam locations in localities, along with 52 spare rooms and 49 waiting rooms.
More than 2,000 officers, teachers, and staff working on the exam, along with hundreds of police officers protecting the exam sites and exam councils.
Awarding scholarships to disadvantaged students in Kien Hai district
On this occasion, the Kien Giang Provincial Police Youth Union coordinated with Kien Hai District Police and Kien Hai District Youth Union to organize a program to support the 2024 exam season and award scholarships to disadvantaged students of Kien Hai Secondary and High School.
