Urgent support
Immediately after receiving instructions from the Northern Power Corporation, Hai Phong Power Company Limited quickly established two shock teams with 122 engineers and skilled workers, immediately heading to the two provinces of Nghe An and Ha Tinh , which are struggling to bear the heavy damage caused by storm Bualoi.
In these two localities, storms caused a series of power lines, power poles and transformer stations to fail, seriously affecting the power grid system and disrupting power supply to customers.
On September 29, meeting with engineers and workers before leaving to support Nghe An and Ha Tinh, Mr. Nguyen Huu Huong, Director of the company, praised their willingness to accept tasks, not afraid of difficulties, demonstrating the spirit of Hai Phong electricians to colleagues and people in the storm-affected areas.
The company director requires each officer, engineer, and worker in the team to be aware of safety, make the greatest effort, coordinate promptly with other units, promptly fix problems, and restore power to customers.
Two shock teams of Hai Phong Electricity are fully equipped with modern technical equipment and necessary construction tools, ready to take on the task of troubleshooting as assigned by local power companies. Hai Phong Electricity leaders also directly direct at the scene, strictly control labor safety, ensure the best quality and progress of work.
"Racing" against time to restore power
In Nghe An and Ha Tinh, the working day of engineers and workers of the Hai Phong Electricity shock teams starts at 5:30 and lasts until late evening, even at night, depending on the nature and level of work. The weather after the storm is still scattered rain, the terrain is muddy, many areas are flooded, causing many difficulties in accessing the site and construction.
Mr. Nguyen Trung Hieu, a specialist from the Safety Department (Hai Phong Electricity) who is supporting in Nghe An, said: “The work is hard, but we are determined to overcome it. When we see the smiles of people whose electricity is restored, all our fatigue disappears.”
Previously, at the end of August, Mr. Hieu was also present in Nghe An province to participate in repairing the power grid problem caused by storm No. 5 (Kajiki). He also participated in the power grid rescue in Hai Duong province (old) after storm No. 3 (Yagi) in 2024.
In Ha Tinh, Mr. Vu Hong Hanh, Deputy Director of the High Voltage Grid Enterprise (Hai Phong Electricity) and his colleagues are actively implementing work in communes in the old Nghi Xuan district.
Mr. Vu Hong Hanh said: “Many medium and low voltage lines were affected by the storm. We coordinated with local power companies to re-erect poles, re-wire, promptly fix the defects on the lines and re-energize. The work progress was accelerated with the goal of restoring power as soon as possible. It was hard work, but everyone tried their best.”
Mr. Hanh is also one of the familiar faces in many disaster relief support campaigns of Hai Phong Electricity. “Every time the company trusts me with a task, I feel very proud and honored to contribute a small part of my strength to help people overcome difficulties and damage after the storm,” Mr. Hanh shared.
Not only the efforts of the engineers and workers in the electricity industry, but also the heartwarming stories of support from local people during the days of overcoming natural disasters. Mr. Hanh emotionally recounted: “The people here are willing to lend motorbikes to the electricity industry workers to move to the construction site, share bottles of water, encourage and sincerely thank them. Those things give us great motivation to carry out our tasks.”
Ms. Tran Thi Huyen Trang in Tien Dien commune (Ha Tinh) emotionally said: “After the storm, trees fell down, electric wires were broken, and electric poles were broken. The power outage disrupted daily life and made everyone worried. But then we saw engineers and electricity workers from many provinces and cities, including Hai Phong, coming to help, coordinating, not afraid of difficulties and hardships, which made us very emotional. Thanks to them, electricity was restored sooner.”
The urgent, professional and humane actions of Hai Phong Electricity staff and workers continue to affirm the sharing spirit of the electricity industry, demonstrating the tradition of "mutual love" of the Vietnamese people. The "orange soldiers" are not afraid of difficulties and hardships, ready to go to areas heavily affected by natural disasters to quickly bring light back, helping people stabilize their lives and production. This is also a vivid demonstration of the spirit of solidarity and sharing between localities. And when electricity is restored, it also helps to light up the faith of each person to overcome difficulties after storms and floods.
