Fifty delicious and unique dishes made from steamed catfish, meticulously presented, showcase the creativity and talent of the chefs.
On November 16th, a culinary competition featuring delicious dishes made from Dong Thap catfish was held at Vo Nguyen Giap Square (Hong Ngu City, Dong Thap Province). The competition was part of the Dong Thap Catfish Festival 2024.
With the theme "Celebrating the culinary delights of Dong Thap's pangasius fish," 29 teams from restaurants, hotels, socio- political organizations, and businesses in the pangasius industry in the Mekong Delta region presented over 50 unique dishes made from pangasius fish at the competition. Within 90 minutes, the teams prepared and presented dishes (1 appetizer, 2 main courses) using pangasius fish and other local products.

The competition is not only an opportunity for chefs to exchange and learn from each other's experiences, but also a chance to honor the nutritional value and brand of Vietnamese pangasius, especially pangasius from Dong Thap.
The festival includes various programs such as: a cultural and artistic festival with the theme "Dong Thap Province Pangasius Festival 2024"; the opening of the Border Trade Promotion Fair; a conference summarizing the pangasius industry in 2024 and discussing solutions for implementing tasks in 2025...

This event is a continuation of the first Pangasius Festival, successfully organized in 2022 by the People's Committee of Dong Thap province in coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, with the theme "Pioneering Breakthrough". Pangasius is one of the five key commodities in Dong Thap's agricultural restructuring plan, with a strong advantage in commercial fish farming for export.
