Implementing the plan to monitor the implementation of projects decided by the Provincial People's Council for the period of 2021-2025, on October 13 and 14, the People's Council of Dong Nai province organized the supervision of flood prevention projects in the Chua stream, Ba Lua stream, Cau Quan stream and the embankment project to prevent landslides on Dong Nai riverbank (from Rach Cat bridge to Ghenh bridge).
Reporting to the monitoring delegation, the Dong Nai Province Construction Investment Project Management Board (project investor) said that the Flood Control Project for Chua Stream, Ba Lua Stream, and Cau Quan Stream in Long Hung Ward, Dong Nai Province has a total investment of more than 267 billion VND. The project started in January 2023 and is scheduled to be completed before December 31, 2025.
Currently, contractors are implementing 4 packages of the project. However, in the project area, there are still 3 households that have not handed over the land (about 40 meters long); 1 pontoon bridge built by the people across the stream has not been dismantled; a water tank for fire prevention and fighting of Nguyen Huu Canh High School located within the project area has no plan to be relocated and 31 households have received money and handed over the land but have not yet dismantled the constructions and architectural objects within the project boundary.
The Dong Nai Province Construction Investment Project Management Board recommends that relevant agencies and localities promptly complete site clearance and hand over the entire site so that the contractor can complete this flood prevention project.
Regarding the Dong Nai Riverbank Erosion Prevention Embankment Project, the project has a total investment of nearly 351 billion VND, started construction in January 2024 and is scheduled to be completed before December 31, 2025. Currently, the project only has 1 household that has not yet handed over the site and 4 households that have not yet dismantled the architectural works within the project boundary.
Dong Nai Province Construction Investment Project Management Board recommends that Tran Bien Ward People's Committee promptly complete site clearance work so that the contractor can ensure the project completion schedule.
At the monitoring session, Vice Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Council Tran Van Mi assessed that for the Dong Nai Riverbank Erosion Prevention Embankment project, there is currently only one household that has not yet handed over the site. Therefore, the investor should coordinate with the relevant agencies to complete the site clearance work early and complete the project in 2025.
As for the Flood Control Project in the Chua Stream, Ba Lua Stream, and Cau Quan Stream areas, due to the large amount of site clearance work, there is a risk that the project will not be completed in 2025. Therefore, the Dong Nai Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board is considering and proposing to extend the implementation period or extend the capital disbursement period of the project.
On October 14, the delegation conducted a survey of the Western Highway 13 project connecting Chon Thanh - Hoa Lu and the Upgrading and Expanding Highway 4 project, Dong Xoai - Chon Thanh section, Binh Phuoc province (old).
Also according to the Vice Chairman of the People's Council of Dong Nai province, the People's Council of Dong Nai province will supervise and unify on October 17, 2025 and work with the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board and the Provincial Land Fund Development Center; on October 20, it will work with the Department of Finance and after October 21, it will work with the People's Committee of Dong Nai province.
