(CLO) On November 24, the Hezbollah group said it had "for the first time" carried out attacks on the Ashdod naval base in southern Israel, using advanced missiles and drones targeting "a military target" in Tel Aviv.
The Israeli military said sirens sounded in central and northern areas, including the suburbs of Tel Aviv. According to the Israeli military, more than 250 rockets were fired from Lebanon, many of which were intercepted. Israeli military radio later reported that a total of “340 rockets” had been fired from Lebanon.

The attack injured at least 11 people, including one seriously, according to Israeli health authorities.
The moves come just a day after Israel carried out an airstrike in central Beirut, killing at least 29 people and wounding 66 others, according to Lebanon's Health Ministry .
Lebanon's interim Prime Minister Najib Mikati condemned the air strike as an attack aimed at undermining the US-led ceasefire effort, calling it "a bloody message, rejecting all ongoing efforts and communications to end the war".
The European Union's (EU) High Representative, Josep Borrell, called for increased pressure on both Israel and Hezbollah to reach a ceasefire agreement. He stressed: "We have only one viable path: an immediate ceasefire and full implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701."
The EU said it was ready to provide 200 million euros to help the Lebanese army deploy more forces in the south of the country, in line with the resolution that ended the 2006 Lebanon war.
In southern Lebanon, the army confirmed that one soldier was killed and 18 others were wounded in an Israeli attack. More than 40 Lebanese soldiers have been killed since fighting escalated in September 2023.
Lebanon reported a total of more than 3,500 deaths, while 1.2 million people were displaced, accounting for about 25% of the country's population.
On the Israeli side, attacks from Lebanon and fighting in Gaza have killed 90 soldiers and nearly 50 civilians. About 60,000 Israelis in the north have also been forced to flee their homes since early October 2023.
