Successful cesarean section of a baby boy weighing nearly 6 kg at Tran Van Thoi General Hospital

The obstetrics team at Tran Van Thoi General Hospital during the surgery to deliver a baby boy weighing nearly 6 kg.

The pregnant woman is Ms. Huynh Thi Truc Mo (Hamlet 9, Khanh Binh Commune), 39 weeks and 4 days pregnant (expected to give birth on July 19). After examination, the doctors determined that the fetus was large, so they decided to perform a proactive cesarean section to ensure the safety of both mother and baby.

The 5.8 kg baby boy was born by cesarean section at Tran Van Thoi General Hospital; both mother and baby are healthy.

Doctor CKII Du Kim Ngan, Deputy Head of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department at Tran Van Thoi General Hospital, said: “This is the mother’s third child, while the previous two children weighed just over 3 kg. The surgery went smoothly, and both mother and baby are healthy.”
