VHO - After the 6-0 victory over Cambodia in the first match of Group A of the 2025 Southeast Asian Women's Football Championship, coach Mai Duc Chung affirmed that the Vietnamese women's team will try their best in each match to win the championship.

The Vietnamese team started the 2025 AFF Women's Football Championship with a relatively easy 6-0 victory over the Cambodian team.

Talking about the use of personnel and the team's goals at the tournament, Coach Mai Duc Chung said: "Football is collective strength. Huynh Nhu passes to her teammates as well as she scores. Thanh Nha has just returned, so the coaching staff only calculates how to use her at the right time.

This tournament is difficult for the Vietnamese team and we will try every match to reach the final and win the championship."

The 6-0 victory over Cambodia helped the Vietnamese women's team and Thailand - the team that defeated Indonesia 7-0 in the previous match - share the top two positions in Group A after the first round of matches.

Evaluating the opponent Thailand, the head coach of the Vietnamese women's team said: "I rate Thailand higher than Indonesia and the score they won 7-0 says it all.

Thailand's squad is very young, many new players that I don't even know. This tournament is Thailand's preparation for the SEA Games and the following tournaments."
