U.22 Thailand hopes to reclaim glory at the SEA Games after two consecutive unsuccessful tournaments. However, the "War Elephants" face a formidable obstacle in the form of U.22 Myanmar in the semi-finals, taking place at 7 p.m. tomorrow, May 13. In the group stage, U.22 Myanmar defeated U.22 Cambodia (2-0), U.22 Philippines (1-0) and U.22 Timor Leste (1-0) to take second place in the group.
Coach Michael Feichtenbeiner of U.22 Myanmar shared: "We are very excited to enter the semi-finals, because we were underestimated before. U.22 Myanmar has a young squad, only 1 player is playing in Malaysia, the rest are playing domestically. However, we have performed beyond expectations. The players performed well in the group stage, improved more and more and are now in the semi-finals. That is very good for the players. Hopefully U.22 Myanmar will have a good performance with this excitement.
U.22 Myanmar surprisingly eliminated host U.22 Cambodia to enter the semi-finals
U.22 Myanmar is underestimated, but remember that we played well against U.22 Cambodia, in a stadium full of home fans. U.22 Myanmar's entry into the semi-finals has brought happiness to the fans. We have nothing to lose. Against a top team like U.22 Thailand, we will try to show good form like in the group stage. U.22 Thailand must have the best approach plan for the match, hoping to find the most reasonable way to pass the semi-finals. We must find the opponent's weakness and bring joy to the people of Myanmar."

On the other side, U.22 Thailand finished the group stage in the leading position, gaining 10 points after 4 matches (3 wins, 1 draw). However, coach Sritaro said that the U.22 Thailand players did not play as originally planned in the final match against U.22 Vietnam.
U.22 Thailand had a hard-fought draw against U.22 Vietnam
"We are happy to have reached the semi-finals. The U.22 Thai players have worked hard in the group stage, just finished the last match with U.22 Vietnam. We are ready for the semi-final match with U.22 Myanmar. U.22 Thailand has been preparing after winning the ticket to the semi-finals. I am a bit dissatisfied that the match with U.22 Vietnam did not go as planned. However, U.22 Thailand will overcome the draw with U.22 Vietnam, make changes, and approach the match with U.22 Myanmar with the best players.
We only have 1 day of rest after yesterday's match. Hopefully the players can recover to maintain their fitness, form and meet the fans' expectations in this tournament," coach Sritaro emphasized.
